Lifelong Devotion to Public Art: Yinka Shonibare Sculpture to Debut in NYC on Way to Davidson

Yinka Shonibare’s vivid sculptures prompt conversation and gently question issues of identity and history. Because of support from Davidson College Trustee Pat Rodgers, Shonibare’s latest work, “Wind Sculpture (SG) I,” will be installed at Davidson five months after its March debut in New York City’s Central Park. Rodgers’ late husband B.D. loved public art, and learning from others with perspectives different from his own.
