Davidson’s proximity to Charlotte provides countless opportunities for students, and Davidson alumni enrich the Charlotte community as they become involved through their careers and community engagement initiatives.
A member of the Davidson College Board of Trustees has anonymously committed $2.5 million to Davidson in support of scholarships. Much of the gift is designated to endow a men’s basketball scholarship to be named in honor of Head Coach Bob McKillop.
Players on the 2015 Davidson College football team had the honor of breaking in a newly renovated locker room and weight room in Richardson Stadium. Made possible by parent and alumni donors and volunteers, the new spaces create a better training environment for current players. In addition, the facilities are on par with or better than those of competing schools and programs, which will aid in recruiting efforts.
Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends of the college gave the #AllinforDavidson challenge 109%! More than 2,727 donors gave more than $763,269 to Davidson in a single day during the college’s third #AllinforDavidson challenge. The total includes $350,000 from challenge donors plus all the gifts made by alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends in the 24-hour period.
